Interested in running a panel? Have knowledge you'd like to share? Maybe you want to host a meet n' greet, or entertain fellow con-goers and guests. Whatever it might be, we'd love to have you!
When and how do I check in for my panel?
You can go directly to your assigned panel room 10-15 minutes prior to start, and an Event Staffer will meet you there to check you in and help you set up as needed. They will also give you the 5 minute warning before your panel is scheduled to end, and help take down if needed.
Can I charge panel attendees for supplies?
You are allowed to charge for the cost of supplies, but please keep it under $10 to keep interest high in your event. You are not allowed to charge for attendance to the panel; an attendee may also wish to simply observe without paying for materials.
I have some special requirements. What do I do?
No problem! Just note it in the special requirements part of the application and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Will 18+ panels be allowed?
Yes, you can request to have an 18+ panel, and will most likely be given a later evening time slot. There are a few restrictions on these panels but we do our best to give approval as much as possible. We will check IDs at the door to ensure panel attendees are 18 or older. If you have any questions regarding the content of your panel, please reach out to us at panels@anthroweekendutah.org and we would be happy to discuss!
What is a Meet n' Greet?
A meet n' greet is just an excuse for a bunch of like-minded people to get together and talk, and hopefully make new friends! These are pretty easy to run, you just need to be there to initiate and guide the event. Some ideas for meet n' greets could be: A Snow Leopard meet-up, a Star Wars get-together, First Responders, and even a Recipe Swap.
Will I be required to register for AWU to host a panel?
Yes, you will need to have at least a basic registration in order to be in the convention space.
